In loving memory of their precious son Josiah (Sunrise 20/09/2010 - Sunset 16/05/2020), The Wharewera-Mika whānau established the Rise & Shine Josiah Mika Foundation.

Josiah was a kind, generous, witty young warrior who loved to give everything in life 100%. Tragically he lost his life to a very rare and sudden illness at only 9 years of age.
Josiah had a curious imaginative mind & eagerly participated in many fun sport & recreational activities, flourishing during his short life. He will always be remembered for the energy & vibrance he exerted.
In Josiah’s honour, his whānau want to ensure all children & young people in Aotearoa have the same opportunities to flourish!
